Additionally, ear pain can result from direct injury to the ear, atmospheric pressure changes that occur during flight or scuba diving, or moisture left in the ear after swimming (swimmer’s ear). Therefore, a visit to UrgentWay is advised to get diagnosed and ear treatment for any ear infections.
At the UrgentWay the following ear treatments are usually recommended:
- Hot compresses
- Over-the-counter pain medications
- Prescription ear drops
- Antibiotics (only for bacterial ear infections)
During your visit, if there is a buildup of ear wax will, it will be eliminated using one of the following options:
A spoon designed specifically for this purpose, used mainly for stubborn wax, not too deep within the auditory channel.
An ear irrigation syringe, designed to reach deeper into the auditory channel with moderate pressure.
In case of extremely stubborn and hard impacted wax, ear drops to soften the wax will be prescribed before removal.
Although it is very safe when performed by medical professionals, our ears are incredibly delicate. Because of that, UrgentWay takes a conservative and careful approach when irrigating your ears.
