Frequently AskedQuestions

How is an urgent care practice different from my primary doctor's office?

Urgent Way can effectively supplement the services your primary doctor provides. Our longer office hours and shorter wait times coupled with a more comprehensive range of services available in each of our locations is a very attractive choice. For instance, your PCP most likely won’t draw blood, perform a chest X-ray, or place sutures but we can do all of this right on-site. 24 Hour Urgent Care Clinic vs. ER

When should I not visit an urgent care practice?

It is best to be treated in an emergency room at your local hospital should you experience conditions such as chest pains, shortness of breath, rectal bleeding, or fainting. Life threatening emergencies may require hospitalization and the best course of action is getting to the ER quickly. (Where to Get Care When You Need It Immediately)

What are the doctors like at Urgent Way?

We absolutely love what we do and the patients we see each day. We consider it a privilege to provide you and your family the best quality of care.

All of us are board-certified and specialize in emergency medicine. We have trained and gotten vast experience in some of the leading emergency rooms in the region.

Do you care for children?

You bet! Not only do we care for children, many of us are parents and we understand how anxious you feel when your child is sick. We pledge to care for your little one as if he or she were our own.

Do I need a referral or authorization from my primary doctor to visit Urgent Way?

Not at all. We have unique agreements with insurance carriers as an urgent care provider. This lets you come to see us without a referral. It doesn’t matter if you have an HMO or PPO plan, rest assured your bill will be covered as usual by your health insurance.

What if I do not have health insurance?

No problem. We can still care for you and we accept payment in cash.  Please call if you have any questions or concerns at (516) 489 6600.
